Stainless steel sanitary weld 90 degree sweep elbows are used on permanent installations where process piping and equipment can be cleaned in place (CIP) and removal from the system is not required. How long are the tangents?
Our data sheet gives a tangent (T) of 4.00" at each end for every centerline radius, with a range of 3.75" to 4.25"; the sheet gives T, A and R by centerline radius, not by tube size.
What is the A dimension?
A is the center-to-face dimension on our drawing: the centerline radius plus the tangent. For a 12" CLR sweep elbow it is 16.00"; for a 24" CLR, 28.00".
