Stainless steel sanitary weld 45 degree laterals are used on permanent installations where process piping and equipment can be cleaned in place (CIP) and removal from the system is not required. What is the difference between a 45° lateral and a true Y?
A lateral has a straight run with one branch at 45°; a true Y splits into two branches at the same angle. On our data sheet a 2" lateral measures A 8.625" along the run. See our sanitary weld true Y fittings.
What is the wall thickness?
Our data sheet gives a nominal wall (the wall column in the chart) of 0.065" from 1" to 3", 0.083" at 4" and 0.109" at 6".
