Additional Info
The stainless steel short radius 90 degree butt weld elbow is a pipe fitting that is attached to two pieces of pipe to allow a change in direction. Stainless steel butt weld elbows can come in various degrees of angles and schedules. The most common angles available are 45 degree elbows and 90 degree elbows. 90 degree elbows are available in long radius and short radius. The schedule corresponds to the wall thickness of the pipe. The function of a pipe is to carry gasses or fluids under pressure. Therefore, the ID, or internal diameter of the butt weld elbow is a major dimension of the pipe. A pipe's outside diameter (OD) remains comparatively constant for all pipe sizes. It is the inside diameter's (ID) bore size that is reduced as the schedule or wall thickness increases.
